Artifact #3: Mindset Activity #2
I decided to revise the original Mindset Activity so that students could better identify with either having a fixed mindset or a growth mindset. Mindset Activity #2 allows students to choose how strongly they agree or disagree with each statement on a 5 point scale (5 being that they strongly agree with the statement and 1 being that they strongly disagree with the statement). The average response for statements associated with growth mindset was 3.73 out of 5 and the average response for statements associated with fixed mindset was 2.70 out of 5. From this activity I was able to see that most of my students identified with having a growth mindset, but the majority of students had a fixed minded about making mistakes.
